THEURBANX.ORG is an international arts collective that connects Black and Brown creatives across the diaspora through the lens of urban culture. We harness the power of urban culture and the arts to negate false borders, share knowledge and resources in community and stand in solidarity with creators of the global majority.
Currently, our work manifests as cross-cultural micro-residencies in New York City and Mexico City, artistic & community programming, and global artists’ development and support. In whatever ways we show up, we hold the light of intentionally creating and curating spaces for our communities to access technologies of abundance.

Our Core Pillars
EXPANSION
Through a series of fully-funded international micro-residencies, resident artists will receive time, space, and the opportunity to see themselves and their work in a global context.
CONNEXION
Residents will also engage with like-minded creatives in their host city, and spark collaborative conversations with artists of their choosing.
EXCHANGE
Opportunities for creative exchange will be designed by each resident artist, and have included public sharings, listening sessions with local artists and community leaders, masterclasses, workshops, performances, and more.
